One Day Trips in Israel

    1. Drive to Jerusalem. View the city from Mt. Scopus and from the Mt. of Olives. Drive to the Old City for a walking tour of: Jewish Quarter, Western Wall, Via Dolorosa (Way of the Cross) and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Afternoon - Visit Mt. Zion with the Tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper, or the Shrine of the Book and Yad Vashe  

 

    1. Dead Sea, Massada. Visit the Herodian fortress, scene of the last stand of the Jews in the revolt against the Romans. Float on the Dead Sea and visit the Oasis of Ein Gedi or Kibbutz Ein Gedi. When starting in Jerusalem a visit of Qumran can be added.

 

    1. Visit the Sorek Stalagmite Cave, Drive to the site of Maresha/Beit Govrin to explore their underground ancient caves . Visit the Latrun Tank Corps Memorial/Museum followed by a walk through the park of Mini Israel with its miniature buildings.

First, we enjoy a panoramic view of Haifa and surroundings from the Carmel Mountain.
Drive to Acre to visit the old city: the Knights Halls, the underground Crusader city, the oriental market, Old Port and Ramparts. In the afternoon we drive to Safed to visit Old Synagogues and Artist Colony. Two overnights near the Sea of Galilee.
FourthDaypic Fourth Day
Start qalking tour of a Kibbutz followed by a visit of the Catacombs at Beth Shearim, Continue further through the Jezreel Valley to see the ruins of Megiddo (Armageddon). In the afternoon we visit Nazareth with its Churches of the Annunciation and St. Joseph or the excavations of the ancient Talmudic city of Zippori. On the way back to hotel we pass the village of Kana. Through the village of Kana back to hotel.
FifthDayPic Fifth Day
Along the Sea of Galilee through the city of Tiberias to to visit the sites of Tabgha, Capernaum and the Mt of Beatitudes and a stop to see the Jordan River. site or excavations of Ancient Tiberias on the banks of the Jordan. Southwards to Beth Shean archaeological dig. In the afternoon we will visit of the antiquities of Beth Shean, a swim and lunch in Sachne Oasis. Drive to Jerusalem through the Jordan Valley passing Jericho. Pass four night in in Jerusalem.
SixthDayPic Sixth Day
Dead Sea, Massada. Drive down the valley and ascend by cable car to the top of Massada to visit the ruins of Herod's fortified Palace where the last stand of the Jews against the Romans took place. Enjoy the special experience of floating on the heavy water of the Dead Sea. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to visit Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Then drive through the Judean Desert back to Jerusalem.
SeventhDayPic Seventh Day
Old City. View the city from Mt. Scopus and the Mt. of Olives. Drive down and cross the Kidron Valley to the Old City. Visit the restored Jewish Quarter including the Cardo and the Wide Wall, then stop at the Western Wall. Visit the Temple Mount with El Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock (if open). Visit the Way of the Cross (Via Dolorosa) and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher or Tower of David (Citadel) Museum. Visit Mt. Zion, with the Tomb of King David and Room of the Last Supper. Free time at the Bazaar could be added.
eighthDayPic Eighth Day
Start with a ride through west Jerusalem, passing the Government Quarter and the Knesset to visit Mt. Herzl and the Herzl Museum, then a visit of Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial. In the afternoon a visit of Ein Karem, birth place of John the Baptist or a visit to the Israel Museum with the Shrine of the Book and the Model of Jerusalem at the time of the Second Temple.

Golan Heights. We begin with with a visit to the headwaters of the Jordan River at Tel Dan or Banias.
Then drive up to the thousand year old Nimrod Fortress, stop at the volcanic lake of Birket Ram, We then pass the Druze villages on the way to Mt. Bental for a view of the northern Golan Heights and Mt. Hermon.
We continue through the urban settlement of Katzrin to visit a former Syrian bunker. Upon leaving the Golan we stop to look at the Jordan River before it enters the Sea of Galilee.
